Collection: SNR Max Per Pixel

This comparison tool allows you to compare signal to noise of our cameras based on assumed light fluxes per pixel. Using this approach does not consider area and assumes the area of the pixel can be altered optically to your desired size.

For the purposes of comparison the peak QE is used, along with the lowest noise and 0 second exposure time.

The equation used for analysis is

P*QE√(P*QE+(DC*t)+(RN)2)

P = Photons

QE = Quantum efficiency

DC = Dark Current (assumed zero)

T = time (assumed zero)

RN = Read Noise
